Tim J's RPM Repository ====================== This is a repository of various RPMs for Fedora and Red Hat-based Linux distributions. Of particular note are the RPMs for RHEL4-derived distributions (including CentOS); in there are number of useful packages, many either rebuilt or updated from various sources. Whilst I use these RPMs myself, public access is provided purely for interest and in case anyone else finds them of passing use; I DO NOT support them in any way whatsoever. Use of the packages found here is ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK. In particular, consider yourself warned that some packages here may update or override packages found in the respective core distributions. (I do normally try to do this in a fairly "sympathetic" and/or backwards-compatible way though). Additionally, I do not undertake in any way to keep the packages here up to date. The selection of packages which I actually use varies over time and so some packages may be bleeding-edge whilst others may be stale versions, or old versions with backported patches. Packages here may appear, disappear, go forwards or backwards in version (even Epoch) and other things that are generally undesirable. All of this is because I'm maintaining them for me, not for anyone else. Thus, consider this repository a scratch-pad of ideas, a snapshot of random things at a given time, nothing more. If you are looking for a better-supported and/or more comprehensive/coherent set of add-on packages, please look elsewhere; for example: - Fedora Extras ( which I contribute to ) - Livna ( http://rpm.livna.org/ ) - AT RPMs ( http://atrpms.net/ ) - DAG ( http://dag.wieers.com/home-made/apt/ ) - Karan Singh's CentOS repository ( http://centos.karan.org/ ) - CentOS Plus/Extras Notwithstanding all the above, this RPM repository is *intended* to be consistent with the following: - Self - Base OS - Official updates [For Fedora] - Fedora Extras - Fedora Legacy This repository will not duplicate files from any of the above where it can be avoided - i.e. usually it will only be if an updated version of a particular software package (e.g. Exim) is required by me. If you find anything egregiously broken in the packages, or would like to comment on their usefulness then you're welcome to e-mail me. However, due to the overwhelming volume of e-mail I receive, I can't guarantee a reply. I do read all mails though, and will do my best to respond. Tim Jackson (rpm@timj.co.uk) 2 September 2006
